If you use IE or Firefox many hours, so that at least one browser window is all the time open, the, browsers will consume more and more memory. My comp has 1GB ram and i have seen 280 MB use by Firefox. And that's for one browser window with some pics and simple html code. Same problem with IE. First i tought that this MUST BE memory leak. Then, searched google and found many people with same complaints. As many of those posts were from 2004 year, and now is 2005 and i am using newest Firefox and IE versions - wtf then??? Why the fu*k can't browsers do some memory release and garbage collecting from time to time? Firefox tends to crash when I have more than a few extra tabs open though. Though I guess it depends how good the host box is and how good the specs you can allow on the Virtual Machine.
