So this error is not common and related only to specific server ...
Then it's hard to figure out, whats the problem. If you want me to try it myself and it's not supersecret, then PM me ftp address and i will try it myself.

No problem. I'll PM you my forum address and his. I only obfuscated the addresses for those with ill intent that may come across this thread. I don't want to be responsible for a friend losing their server. This is his business, it's how he survives, so I'd feel horrible.

Test done, got ls command work and as suspected - anonymous ftp account has no write permissions there. So you have to look @ other possibilities.

All right, thanks. I guess a little social engineering never hurt anyone Razz. I also suppose opening one of the files in the docs directory and changing it isn't viable either. Theory says it is, experience and luck says it isn't. Is there a way to gain write permissions on ftp? Without having the admin make a new account that is.
