Posted: Thu Jul 26, 2007 3:19 pm joedag Regular user Joined: Apr 29, 2006 Posts: 6 Hi there, I've noticed there are lots of clones of websites around these days, and am wondering how people manage to do this. Is there any available software (free or paid) that is able to completely download a website (full php files) and also their databases (pretty much the same thing as FTP access to server? OR Is there any software that is able to view all the files and download all the files on that server. The reason i ask is because i want to start cloning websites fully (i noticed people are doing this on getafreelancer.com), and am really interested in how they do it and turn it around in a couple of days. They can clone absolutely any website going including myspace and youtube. Isn't there any security available to stop them accessing databases on their server and full php files? But soon you will found out, what copyright violation means ... And by the way - you can't "copy" php script's source code and databases directly. So the people that claim on such sites as getafreelancer.com that they can provide an exact clone of a website in fact cannot? The same person i was speaking to about cloning websites said he gets everything, including databases etc? Im really confused. The may be able to provide the exact clone of a website by rebuilding it . You just select a website and they design a "clone website" but there is a lot of work behind that.
