hey all ..

If you ever being into cracking 1000 or more hashes at once you probably understand that the subject i added is correct and is a question i would like to get your answer from.

I have almost 1 g/b of good wordlists and i use cain and abel for dictonary but also rainbow attack. I did a benchmark by myself 1000 md5 hashes and i cracked more than 60% of them in just 2 minutes using wordlists. i tried to mass crack them all with rainbow tables and took A LOT time more to crack just 10% of them. So my idea is to creat a tool that has a combination of both wordlist, dictonary together with brute-force attack in such a way that the faster one goes first (dictonary) and then rainbow tables crack the rest.

Programmers are welcome here. It would be a nice project to start.

I am not saying that rainbow tables crack slower than dictonary a single hash but i know for sure that it it surely cracks slower 1000 hashes ... (for example a database of phpnuke site or mambo portal.)

Sounds like a good idea to me. Tell me if I can help out here in any way and I will. Tell me if you want any of my rainbow tables, im starting to get quite alot Wink

Btw, do you think you could upload some of those wordlists/dic's? I got upload space if you could and I could host it.. or tell where you got?
THanks for all info regarding this.. Very Happy
I got too many hashes I need cracked and are willing to try everything.

All the hashes I need cracked are salted MD5

I got 2 weeks access to rainbowcrack.com if you want me to submit some there too Smile

Cain and able can do one after another already. You just have to do it manualy. Once you have done the Wordlists just try Rainbow tables then bruteforce.
You could ask Mao the maker of C & A to make an addtion like that in the next major release. If enough people would l;ike something like that I think Mao would add something. Perhaps like a hash crack wizard where you enter all the info for Dict, Rainbow and Brute and then it does them in order.
