It's the type you wrote in your post (MD5).
I think you got no results, because the password was not in your dictionary files. |

True, I actually used a hybrid attack, which combines your dictionary with some other wordlist file (I used one with all the combinations of 2 numbers). |

yea you need dictionaries in order to crack it. The more words you have the better % of you cracking the hash.
Also brute force could of easily got this password. |

ok wat about the rules.txt wen using a hybrid attack? did u edit that to include any new rules? if so wat rules? |

Ok sorry correction, I used combined dictionaries... That's not the hybrid attack, it goes faster if you only want to append numbers.
But about the Rules file. It depends on what you need it for. I almost only use it if I really need to find some hard password, because it has a lot of nice options. |

i tyr to run combined dict attack but it keeps saying no dict found..
i get an option 4 dicts to select but its named like Dict set 1 to 8..however i dont even know if these sets exists!! i wana use my own dicts! how do i get them to show up in options instead of dict set 1 etc.
any advise? |

If you go to "Dictionaries" in the options page, on top there is "Current Dictionary Set". Then for example place a normal dictionary in set1, and one with numbers in set2. Then in the "Combined Dictionary Attack", pick set1 and set2 and keep the two other options at <Not Specified>. |

it finished running, but where it says current password..i didnt c a single pass with number next to it..een though i put the number dict!
n it didnt find my word..although the word ross is in the dict! but R is not capital!
can i get the dict that u used? if u dnt mind plz cuz even though the word ross is in dict, its not pickin it up due to capitalisation! |
