i know it would take some centuries for the mortal
but is it possible to crack this hash in the next 2 years or will we need better tools and better hardware
777991a60827ce3ce33b522c78e9628e

first 2 numbers of the 22 digit pw are a 4 and a 5
->
777991a60827ce3ce33b522c78e9628e md5 -> plaintext

45xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

whats your opinion about this if you know what i mean.... what might happen if people can work it out hehe ^^

I don't think that's humanly possible to crack even with something like BarsWF. Thats 9^20 possibilities, which is an unbelievably high number.

10^20 isnt it???
well i at this very moment ....i thought about evreything you could do
my card gets 560 m hashs/s and my cpu about 200 mh/s
now for example lets take 3 gcards sli ... id get about 1800 mh/s ( hope it would add just like that dunno...) so the tool id be using can set first 2 digits to 4 and 5 so stil 10^20... now ... i asked michail if barswf would speed down barswf if one would search for more hashs at the same time he said just a little bit but not really .... i get 1000 nother md5 ...all 22 digits and first two numbers 4 and 5... ok at the speed of 1800mh/s it would take me 1761 years to get it ....since we we are searching for 1000 at the same time it would take aprox. only 1.76 years to get one of these hashs

have i done a mistake somewhere?

Currently there are available md5 Rainbow Tables for [0-9]{1,12}, it's for max 12 digits long passwords. There can be even Rainbow Tables for 13 digits long passes. But that's the practical limit. Every digit place will increase keyspace by factor of ten. 10 000 computers can probably crack ~16 digits long passes in reasonable time. For 20 digits long passwords you need 10 000 times more computers, it's about 100 000 000 computers Smile
Of course in case of mass cracking your chances to crack one of the hashes are bigger. But usually you need to crack one specific hash and you have no shortcuts for this Smile

In 10 years, the owner of that password might have changed it. Lol. Laughing
