Afaik, you need to specify the username too.

sha1(strtolower($username).$password)

SMF 1.1.4 is using simple SHA-1 hashes as far as i know. Salting was implemented in next versions.

thats the full thing if u need the username. i thought it was just sha1 to as well not sure if salt was included in the 1.4
