Hi everyone! I have a question for you, I really hope you can help me out.
So, I have a phpmyadmin account on a certain server... Is there any shell or other way I could use to get ALL PRIVILEGES ? Just like the root does...
I have an account with the CREATE USER attribute but it cannot GRANT anything... I can only make accounts with the USAGE attribute
Thank you!! |

Then it's easy, you can manipulate any user's permissions as wanted, or crack root password hash and then impersonate root, etc.
Koko: I have seen many real-world webservers, where after sql injection success access to mysql.user table is granted. They are mostly low priority servers - like edu or small companies. All the shared hosting servers are secured of course and no admin ever will grant to casual user FILE privileges or CREATE USER privs. But still - it's always worth to try |
