Hi there, Im new to this forum and to hacking, but i like to think it will educate me alot if i start to learn how to hack.

So on to the question.

What kind of encrytion is this. and what tool can i use to decode it?

might be a standard DES : Confused aint sure..
u got it from admin.pwd right?

This is Unix-style MD5 hash and such algorithm involves rehashing ~1000 times, so cracking performance will be painfully low Smile

no sry.. regular md5 always has 32 characters.. mhm could be some non regular hash used by an application.. where did you get this hash from?

or it is just the plain password Razz .. did you try that?

lol im ashamed to tell it but i googled it with this

google --- > “# -FrontPage-” inurl:service.pwd
but i dont know how else to do it. are there any beginner tutorials i can read here?
