What after i connect ?

Hello All

Just new to this but willing to learn from the start, once i connect to a remote mashine via Telnet what are the commands to see version or DIR on that mashine ?

Any help/tut/info welcome

man.. it sounds like you have a long way to go.

to check the operating system and version info do 'uname -a'

to check the directory that you are currently in, do 'pwd'

do a google search for 'basic unix commands'

... at least that would be a good starting point

if you really want to learn you should probably get some flavor of unix.. most notably linux. an easy way to do this without partitioning is using a virtual machine. vmware is a good virtual machine, and supports many different operating systems.

This will give you information about operating system version:

Code:
cat /proc/version


And this one is classics, useful for accounts enumeration:

type "w" if u are in *nix environtment, in case the administrator hangin there also Razz

see if there is a "root" account or somethin like that .. hehhee
