Hi..

I always wonder what makes those professional hackerz really hackerz.,
they seem to get pwds and deface sites like juz 123..

I have seen a few screens of desktops and laptops most were black with matirx effects and looked a bit sinisteric -- Yes LINUX, UNBUNTU, BACKTRACK, WHOPIX ..etc

then there were those, with a sweet looking GUI though we try to make it look as ugly as possible it still is easy to says its billy here.

And there are those confused between the two and probably go for VMWARE or something.

So can any1 guide me which is the best operating system to be an professional hacker.

at my opinion a hacker is not dependent from his OS..... a good hacker must be able to use with ease linux, unix, windows,IOS, etc.etc...

Getting pwd, and defacing websites doesn't make you a hacker, at least not these days. Finding vulnerabilities, patching vulnerabilities, writing exploits...those guys are hackers. Anybody can deface website these days...well almost anybody Wink

Professional hackers are experienced both on Windows and Linux. Yes, Linux is usually preferred as working environment. On Linux there is Wine for Windows apps and Windows users can use VMware for Linux.
Still, operating system preferences does not make you professional.
Professional hacker:

1. usually will not deface websites, because it's lame
2. will do the job with minimal noise
3. will clean traces after successful job
3. is hard to backtrace (concealed IP address)

Really good Blackhats are keeping their identity in secret and will stay in background, while professional Greyhats and Whitehats participate on Hacking Conferences and other meetings.

Most of the political and other kind of defacers are scriptkiddies. So once again - my suggestion is to act professionally and it means no destructive activity Smile
