Isn't ionCube the best way to protect a PHP script? (latest version)

Is there any good PHP Obfuscator? (I am not talking about the basic eval(base64..., but there seems to be some new ones that scramble a lot...)

encode good in my opinion is the type of variable obfuscator
one of them, try the free online encode below

Altough this post is old, I want to clarify it. This is the simple rule:

If the loader can see the source, you can see it too.

The name of the loader doesn't matter. Whether it is 'eval(base64' or IonCube it is decodable. Some loaders obfuscate the PHP code (replace the variable names with garbage), but for someone who wants to study the logic of the code, obfuscating is useless too.
