Hi there, I just got this hash from the column crypted_password:
b75481e2d3f1eae5fb09fadd84feea8cb65d846f

And in the same table have the column salt which have the value:
261356266b282e715479507b00e5982bad12ef5c

I'm 99% sure this is SHA1 right?But why the salt are so big? I'm sorry but I'm not familiarized with this kind of hash. And in hashcat what algorithm I need to use to try crack it?
Thank you!

Encryption algorithm I think:

Code:
# Encrypts some data with the salt.
def self.encrypt(password, salt)
Digest::SHA1.hexdigest("--#{salt}--#{password}--")
end

Hope this helps someone

I really need to get this hash cracked. But I'm not sure if the
sha1($salt.$pass) algorithm is right.
Why not sha1($pass.$salt) ?
I can't understand it. If someone can explain-me I'll be thankfully.

That should be the right algorithm but I'm not sure it'll work.

Code:
--#{salt}--#{password}--

there are some dashes inside too, I'm not sure but I think they are added when encrypting. I'm really not sure but my guess is that is Ruby code and I'm not familiar with that language. I'll have a look into it but don't count on anything Smile
