how did u get that md5 from 3.8.1 :O
1- www.example.com/vb/admincp
2- right click then choose page source
3- now search for "Value" in the page
4- you found the hash
5- well done

you will not be able to find any hash/salt in the source of the PHP. These items will be found in a mySQL database This is what you need access too to require what you want.
